Imola red M3 coupe with Imola red interior. With the premium package, bi-xenon headlights, premium sound system, heated seats and gas guzzler tax the MSRP is $52,620 and is exactly what I paid in New York.

MSRP $48,900 when new, leather was the only option. Paid $46,500 + tax and license of course. Luxury tax and gas guzzler were already paid.had 1,500 miles on it when I bought it and a small dent on the passanger door which the dealer had fixed with photos of before and after. The dealer said it was on loan to a magazine editor for a photo shoot (don't know if I fully believed him). Long Beach BMW in California doesn't go over MSRP so I am glad I didn't pay over. They also had 4 others in stock for sale at MSRP or below if miles on it.

Carbon Black/Grey leather
Leather
Want to get the Titan shadow trim for the interior as on the 2002 M3s. Anyone know if they're available

Imola/Blk cloth seats, SMG, HK, ZPW Power Seat Package. MSRP is $51820. I reluctantly paid $500 over ($52,320)for a March tenth week build at McKenna BMW in Norwalk, CA. That comes to $57,192 out the door. They wanted $130 more for mats but finally threw them in. Someone claims they called McKenna today and were quoted MSRP for an order. Maybe I'm a pushover.

2002 Imola Red M3 Coupe, Black Leather with Cloth Inserts and NOT a single option. I paid a MSRP of $47,925 which included the Handling and Destination charge, Luxury Tax and the Gas Guzzler Tax. The dealer included the floor mats and a $100 gift certificate for the purchase of acessories, because I bought my car through their Internet dept.

I purchased my car from Difeo BMW in Tenafly, New Jersey.

You guys bring tears to my eyes. Here in Europe (Holland) the base price of the M3 is $70,400 - thats before 'extra's'. If you add the basics - leather / cd player / SMG - your up to $75,000.

Somebody shoot me...

I think I pay too much for my car,
it's kinda against my original plan
that don't want to pay a penny over MSRP
and Tax advantage when I get from out of state. Total can almost save me $ 7K!!
But....after I get in the Car last night
in the Dealer...and they happen to have slot
for me at April deliever. I lose all my control.....

I'm really going to love this car. But tax, where I live in GA, is 7%. So that will jack the price on up to $56k by the time the state is finished with me. Rediculous paying $3500 in TAXES on a car... not to mention the GAS GUZZLER tax you also end up paying. Rediculous, I say.

I must want this car pretty friggin' bad... that's all I have to say.

Just bought a TS/Blk m3 coupe. I paid MSRP though I tried to talk them down. They threw in the floor mats given it was "President's day" and all. Seems like most dealers won't go below MSRP on this car(I called around). Good news is build time is only 6-8 weeks. I guess they are hurting a little more after 9/11 and aren't selling as many (not much though). They kept saying how 6 months ago people were paying 5 -6 K over MSRP and waiting longer (maybe to make me feel better). Sounds like you folks on the West Coast have it far worse as this is the way it still is there.
By the way, I live in PRovidence, RI.

Silver 02 Coupe
6 spd manual
Rear Airbag
Rear Sunshade
Bi-Xenon
Nav
Full Napa Leather
Power seat
CD
Harmon Cardon
Alarm

at MSRP and $1K gas guzzler at $55,055.
After 9% Sales tax, 3% Luxury Tax and License and Title the grand total of $60679.10 (don't forget the dime, salesman gave me a rough time.. yerk-off).

Delivery... mid-April...?????

BTW is it normal that you pay Sales tax over the MSRP + Gas Guzzler + Lux Tax ? Sounds like tax over tax to me.
Muttley : daarom koop ik 'm hier... 6 maand in m'n bezit en ik kan 'm als huisraad naar NL brengen

Wow! Speedfreak definitely wins this round. That sounds like about 7-8 K less tha most are paying and ? invoice cost (if not lower). Congrats. Damn RI taxes (7%) plus 1,000 Gas guzzler tax and a luxury tax sure don't help me.

Conv w/SMG, GPS, etc... every option except the hardtop = MSRP ($62,795 + tax etc) -- no markup.

I literally contacted EVERY BMW dealer in CA to get a reasonable delivery date (ordred in Jan, April build, March delivery) with no markup. Steven's Creek BMW is the one that pulled through for me.

In my quest I had dealers quote me up to $10k over MSRP and some delivery dates as late as June. My favorite was from Weatherford BMW (dealt with them twice in my life, they were scummy both times) who would take my order, get the car here in April, and THEN tell me the price -- which they assured me would be "market value". Yeah, right, like I just fell off the turnip truck...

Rick,

Congrats on your new M3....interesting that you got Stevens Creek to give you the car at MSRP....I spoke to them about 2 months ago and they were charging 10 over.....and I've read nothing but complaints about how they try and gouge the buyer. When I went in to their show room they had about 6 M3s on the the floor and all were bought from out of state dealers in order to sell in CA at a premium.....it seems from what I heard they do this as a matter of practice. I got my LSB SMGII Cab 2002 from Allison BMW.

Anyone else manage to get an M3 BELOW MSRP? Seems like Speedfreak is the only one listed here. Doubt any dealer needs to go below MSRP to sell these. Maybe there are some real good negotiators out there however (myself excluded).

Maybe it was $10k over for a car on the lot. Anyway, I got it all in writing so hopefully there isn't much crap they can pull on me at this point.

How was Allison? They wanted to charge me $48k for a 2 year old M Roadster (about $10k+ over market at the time) when I was first looking for a new car -- they were so far out of line on the price on this vehicle I never even considered them for anything else.

Glad they worked out for you, though.

Yup. It really is the damn US taxes that kill most of us. 7% sales tax, $1,000 Gas guzzler tax , luxury tax. It all adds up ........to a lot. Sounds like no dealer will go much below MSRP either to help offset the difference. I'm sure I won't care once I finally get it though
